Common questions from FBref users
- Is FBref's xG gone for good?
- FBref removed its advanced data in January 2026 after its data provider ended the agreement, and its Premier League stats pages no longer show xG. Sports Reference said any advanced data it adds in future would be on a much smaller scale.
- Do you have per-90 stats?
- Yes. The players table has a per-90 switch for count stats such as goals, assists, xG, xA, shots and key passes. Percentages stay as they are. Filter by minimum minutes, position and team.
- Where are the percentile rankings?
- On every player's page. Each player gets per-90 percentiles against players in the same position, across attacking, playmaking and defending.
- Can I compare players side by side?
- Yes. The compare tool takes two to five players and shows a radar, head-to-head bars and every stat in one table. Some pairs have their own page, such as Szoboszlai v Cherki.
- What about team data?
- Every team has a report on its shape, attack, defence and set pieces, and every match has pass networks for both sides. Some deeper modules are part of the 2026/27 Season Pass.
- Is there live data?
- No. xG Stat has no live scores. Match stats arrive after full time, usually within 12 hours. Fixtures and fixture difficulty are there before kick-off.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Browsing, filtering and comparing are free without one. An account is only needed to save things, such as followed teams and watch lists. Some deeper analysis is part of the 2026/27 Season Pass.
- Is the data from Opta or StatsBomb?
- No. xG Stat is built on licensed professional event data, and works out its own ratings, xT and expected tables from those events. xG can differ slightly from Opta-based figures, such as the official FPL app. Why our numbers differ
- Do you cover leagues beyond the Premier League?
- No. xG Stat covers the Premier League only.
